In this two-part webinar series open to both CALU members and guests, Kevin Wark and Glenn Stephens will use a series of case studies to preview the contents of the best selling and newly updated The Essential Canadian Guide to Estate Planning (3rd Ed) by Kevin Wark, which covers estate planning issues applicable to families and business owners.
Part 1 of this series, to take place on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm ET, will review an estate planning case study involving a HNW family. Planning essentials such as minimizing taxes on death, U.S estate taxes, will and probate planning, powers of attorney for property and personal care, inter vivos trusts, philanthropy and life insurance will be discussed. Expected number of CE credits for Part 1 = 2.0.
Part 2 of this series, to take place on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm ET, will use two case studies to review the planning essentials for business owners including topics such as family-owned vs arm’s length businesses, shareholder agreements, will planning, estate freezes, philanthropy and corporate owned life insurance. Expected number of CE credits for Part 2 = 2.0.
All registrants will be able to purchase the Essential Canadian Guide in paperback or electronic form at a reduced price on Amazon.ca for one month following the second presentation. The recordings of both webinars will be available to registrants at no charge following the event. Those that cannot attend the webinar series may register for the recordings (and obtain CE credits), at the same price as the original webinars.
The member rate for the webinar series is available to those who have paid their membership for 2023 before the February 28 renewal deadline. Those who have not renewed their membership will be required to pay the guest rate.
